Once silver The hair started to pop up on Instagram here and there (often with tribute to Granny Hair ) and on the hippest streets of the city, a few years back, it just would not go away. There is something heavenly and unique about a young face with a silver or gray hair - not to mention how beautiful it is when a woman has her age and her hair naturally turns gray.
For the reasons mentioned above I am a big fan of the silver hair trend and partly because Storm was always my favorite of the X-Men.

Preparing to Change to Silver Hair Colors
• Decide what type of gray hair you want and plan accordingly. Do you want only a few gray strands? Silver hair tips? Silver Balayage Highlights? Are you going out and coloring your head gray? There are a lot of options, and you'll soon see a lot of sample silver hair color samples for inspiration.
• If you do not start with virgin (uncolored) hair, slowly start the process of removing the old dye. Alternatively, wait and let the hair color outgrow. It is much easier to start with virgin hair.
• Regularly mask and condition your hair for maximum health. Coconut oil is my favorite personal hair masking choice.
• Make a stain test with all the different products that will go on your hair to make sure you will not have an allergic reaction.
• Take a stratification test to see how long it takes for your hair to be sufficiently bleached. In other words, remove a strand of hair from your head, cover with bleach, and check every 10 minutes to see how long it lasts to the brightest blond hair color.
• Do not use sulphate anymore shampoos - they will wipe the hair of the necessary moisture, leaving it dry and much more likely to be damaged by bleaching.
• A few days before you start the silver hair dyeing, stop washing your hair altogether

How To Choose Gray Hair For Your Skin Tone
Gray hair comes in several shades and you want to make sure you have the right silver hair color for your skin Skin tone to decide. Choosing the wrong silver hair color could have a disastrous effect on your skin.
Silver hair color for warm skin tones : If your skin is yellow, orange or olive green, opt for more neutral gray hair colors and definitely avoid anything too blue. Gunmetal shades of gray and platinum silver will both work wonderfully with your skin. Silver hair colors for cool and neutral skin tones : If your skin appears plain beige or a little pink, you're in luck because the gorgeous genuine silver will look perfect with your skin, and You do not have to worry about the color turning blue. @ derekcashstyles
How to Colorize Your Hair Gray or Silver
Before you begin this process, make sure that you have all the necessary potions and tools. For perfect silver hair you need: • A bleaching kit (depending on how dark your hair is, you may need some whitening kits). The L'Oreal Feria Absolute Platinum Advanced Lightening System delivers consistently good results and can be used with Ulta .
• Saran wrap or a plastic hair cap are purchased.
• A purple toner to get yellow and orange tones from your bleached hair. If your hair is not too warm after bleaching, a purple shampoo like the Joico Color Balance Purple Shampoo from Ulta is enough. For most people, an ammonia-based toner like the Wella Color Charm T18 from Amazon is needed, mixed with a 10 or 20 hydrogen peroxide-based developer.
• Finding a Suitable Product Silver hair color for the home can be tough. An option for a gray / silver hair color that is used by many professionals is the Pravana ChromaSilk Vivids in silver from Amazon . Wella Color Charm in Frosty Ash, also from Amazon gives you results that are silvery-white.
• Gloves to protect your hands.
• A mixing bowl and hair dye brush.
• Petroleum jelly to protect your hairline and prevent your skin from staining.
• An old towel or shirt that you do not mind when it's covered in bleach stains.
Once you have all the necessary products, you are ready to go. I recommend distributing the whole process of hair coloring over a few days (the darker your hair starts, the more time you should spend on this process). By taking breaks between each bleaching / dyeing session, you can reduce the damage bleaching causes to the hair.
@chrisweberhair
Step 1: Bleaching
< p> • Start with dry, unwashed hair. You can even apply a little bit of hair oil on it to strengthen it a bit and prevent dryness. Collect the bleach and gloves and make sure you wear clothes that you do not care about. • Apply Vaseline on the hairline to protect your skin from the bleach. Repeat this step also for tightening and coloring the hair.
• Follow the instructions of the bleach kit and mix the bleach with the developer either in a bottle or in a mixing bowl.
• Share your hair on the crown and tie the top of the hair. Divide the lower part of your hair into two sections and tilt your head forward so that they fall over your shoulder and you can reach them.
• Take one strand of hair one at a time and wear the bleach with the hair dye brush. Start in the middle of the strand and work your way down.
If necessary, charge your applicator with more bleach, then work your way up to the roots. Repeat for each strand of hair in the lower half. Lower the hair on your crown and start the same process for the top of your head.
• Once all your hair is covered in bleach, pull on the plastic cap or wrap your head in a saran wrap (leave your face uncovered!). Leave it as long as necessary, based on your stratification test. For some, 10 minutes may be enough, but most take longer. Do not leave the bleach in your hair for more than 30 minutes.
• Wash out the bleach with a purple shampoo. You can leave the shampoo in your hair for about 10 minutes to remove some of the mush that you might end up with.
• If a bleach session was enough to achieve a sufficiently light blond shade (we're talking so blond it's almost white, then you can move on to the next step.) If not, wait a few days, give your hair a thorough conditioning treatment and repeat the bleaching process. @ chrisweberhair
Step 2: Toning
If your hair does not have warm yellows or oranges after bleaching, you can skip this section. However, you probably have warm tones in your hair so you need to do it to achieve real gray hair colors. Toning is essentially another hair dyeing step, and since it requires some peroxide developer, it can damage the hair.
• It's best to wait a few days after bleaching, and then toning. During this time you avoid washing your hair too much but conditioning as much as possible.
• Collect everything you need to tighten your hair: toner, developer, gloves, mixing bowl, hair dye brush, and wear clothes that are not important to you.
• If your hair has just a touch of warmth, use a 10-volume developer. If there is a lot of brass or orange in your hair, use a 20-volume developer instead.
• Mix 1: 2 toner and developer in the mixing bowl. This means you want to use 2 parts developer for one part of the toner. Put on your gloves and apply the toner to your hair. Follow the same procedure of parting the hair and applying the toner as in bleaching.
• If you have covered your entire head with toner, let it sit for 20 or 30 minutes.
• Wash it out! First, rinse your hair with water and then condition. Do not shampoo your hair! At this time, your hair could actually be a nice enough shade of silvery white that you do not even need to dye it!
@ chrisweberhair
Step 3: The Fun Part : To dye!
At this point, your hair has virtually no pigment left in it and is ready to go in whatever shadow s of silvery or gray hair colors you were hoping for. Since you no longer use hydrogen peroxide, you do not have to wait between painting and dyeing. This last step does not harm your hair.
• Push the silver hair color you use into a mixing bowl. Some gray hair dyes, including Pravana One, may end up looking quite dark. If this is the case, you can dilute it by mixing it with hair conditioner before applying. Divide your hair into the same four sections and apply the gray hair dye to your whole head.
p>
• Let the dye sit on your hair for half an hour. If you walk a little, that's no big deal.
• Wash it out and rock your new, silvery look!
• At this point, you may also want to look at the ends of your hair - the split ends will get worse after all the bleaching and dyeing processes, so it might be time for a cut or a haircut!
How to choose a salon for stress-free gray hair colors
Getting gray is a serious process. There are many places where you can stumble and make hair-damaging mistakes when you make it at home. Salon dyeing is a safe bet, but it's also a bit more expensive.
Switching to Silver Gray Hair colors can cost between $ 500 and $ 1000 depending on the salon you choose. Be prepared to spend a lot of money and time in the salon chair.
If you choose a salon and a color technician, you want to be sure to look for experience. Skip the offers or discounts you can get from a Newbie Haircolorist - the damage that they could cause will cost you a lot more in the long run.
Look for a reputable hair color technician / salon with a lot of positive online reviews and a large online gallery of unusual hair colors. Make sure you like the way you dye your hair, but also make sure your hair looks healthy in the photos.
Once you've decided on a salon, book a consultation with Hair Colorist. Bring pictures of what your final color should look like.
Ask the color technician questions: How long does the process take? What kind of measures will you take to protect your hair from damage? Would you be alright to spread the hair dyeing process over a few days?
If you like their answers (and their attitude, remember that you have to be in their chair for many hours), go ahead and book your appointment!

How to Maintain Si lver / Gray hair Color
• Wash your hair as little as possible. Repeated washing makes your gray hair dull faster.
• Use a special, sulphate-free shampoo for silver hair. The purple Joico shampoo that I mentioned earlier is an excellent shampoo for gray hair because it keeps the paleness at bay and does not remove hair from oils.
• Nourish your hair as much as possible! As all the bleaching and dyeing has affected your hair, a mask strengthens like It's a five-minute hair repair of ulta your hair and makes it look healthy.
• When the silver hair color starts to fade (which is inevitable), you can do color rinses in the shower to refresh it. A popular silver hair conditioner is the Roux Fanci Full True Steel temporary color rinse, which can be purchased through Sally Beauty . • Avoid frequent heat-setting.
• If you need to blow dry your hair, do it to the lowest setting.
• To nourish your silver hair during the day, and to obtain these mirror-finish metallic hair effect, smooth on a light hair serum as the classic Moroccan Oil Hair Treatment of Sephora .
• Extremely light hair is dyed very easily. Be careful with make-up and heavily pigmented foods and drinks as they will color your hair just as they would color your favorite white T-shirt.
• You may choose to periodically repeat the bleaching and staining process at your roots (careful!), But darker roots and silvery hair are a very trendy look that you can enjoy as well. < "width: 510px" div id = "attachment_1785" style = class = "wp-caption aligncenter">

Silver / Gray Hair Makeup Tips
The beauty of gray hair colors is, for the most part, they're pretty neutral. This means you do not have to worry about your make-up options colliding with your hair. However, there are definitely some gray hair makeup tips that you should keep in mind.
• Hug the color!
The risk of being washed Silver hair is real, and a makeup look that's primarily about neutrals and nudes will not help. Always have a touch of color in your look, which can come from some rouge, a lipstick or a warm bronzer.
• Perfect this skin!
Silver hair really draws attention to your face and it can call attention to imperfections. It's a little more important that you pin down your foundation, so make sure you're in the right color match and that your application is as clean as possible.
• Get your glow! Dewy skin is the height of youthfulness, while overly dull skin can age a person. To create this beautiful contrast of gray hair and young, radiant skin, use either a strobe cream or powder on your cheekbones, in your nose, and anywhere you want a little shine.
• Complementary eyebrows!
You probably do not want your brows to go well with your silver hair, or you will lose the facial effect that they give you, especially if you do. Choose really light gray hair ,
However, you want your tone to match the undertone of your silver hair. Good eyebrow filler options are cool taupe or slate gray. Stay away from eyebrow powder, pencils or pomades that have a red or yellow undertone.

Fashion Tips for Silver / Gray Hair
Since gray is a neutral color, you do not have to worry about clothes colliding with your hair! On the other hand, silver hair stands out as unique and unusual, and you should reflect your wardrobe a setting that will suit with it.
• White and gray can either be a cool monochrome look when paired with gray hair colors, but they can also wash you out and have a disastrous effect. Be careful when putting together outfits.
• Brighten things up with lots of color! Colorful outfits contrast nicely with gray hair and make you look youthful.
• Pay attention to the undertones of your gray hair when using color-blocking outfits. Since most silver / gray hair tends towards blue, you can create contrast by wearing warm shades such as orange and purple, or you can combine with cool shades such as purple and blue.
• If you're not very careful, avoid anything that will make you age. Tacky sweatshirts, mom jeans and cardigans are best to avoid unless you can pair them with other pieces that are really young.
• Gray hair colors are a perfect match for edgy, punk or goth looks. Embrace many blacks and even dress your silver hair with a few metal tips.
