New York The Fashion Week Spring 2018 literally blooms with trends and iconic moments, and we're already obsessed with most of the collections presented. Take, for example, the spring-2018 runway shows of Alexander Wang, Jason Wu, Tom Ford, and Victoria Beckham: they were so full of legendary fashions (though sometimes they became popular because of negative feedback)), it was almost impossible for them to pursue.
The Alexander Wang, Jason Wu, Tom Ford and Victoria Beckham's spring / summer 2018 runway shows also share some common patterns that surprise those who did not expect these creative directors to expect a different twist on their fashion moves.
The most interesting leitmotiv You'll notice that the following designers, although significantly different from one another, had shared inspirations behind their spring lineups, the results of which were already rumored to be the must-have trends of the upcoming spring.
Here's what happened in Spring 2018 NYFW's first runway shows!
Alexander Wang Spring / Summer 2018 RTW Collection
If it's not extreme, it's not Alexander Wang. Alexander Wang's latest spring collection 2018 was a (literal) walking party when he sent his models along with a convoy of Ram Trucks to a party bus. The invitation to his fashion show read a bold #WANGFEST, and it was not the only WANG-cute statement we'd read on the runway.
With a wave of self-esteem and lust for fun, Alexander Wang himself became the center of attention while simultaneously opening two public parties (the first was in Lafayette and Center Street in Manhattan, The the second was at Astor Place.) The energetic energy, mainly inspired by the glorious eighties (with a few nineties-inspired accents here and there), was the spring 2018 collection of Alexander Wang's full-bodied short hairstyle cuts and deep V-neckline, as well as bold Leather and glittering materials that will surely show the party animals in the coming warmer months.
To top it off, Wang deconstructed male suits and cute, casual-chic dresses that complement the latest looks with more peculiar headgear (of course, he gave Kendall Jenner the one with a huge "Wangover" statement) the front side is emblazoned).
Jason Wu Spring / Summer Collection RTW 2018
For This NYFW designer Jason Wu decided to finally show his true colors. "This is the first time in a long time that I did not feel I was catching up," Wu explained before the show. "It's getting easier than what you've seen me, it's loosening up."
But is it? Extremely elegant, though at the same time ready to actually wear, Jason Wu's proposals for spring 2018 were pretty experimental and at times deconstructed, which could be a synonym for not-so-casual fashion for many future customers. However, the entire collection was something we still needed to see from Wu, although clear and cherished old references from Jason Wu were still within reach. In addition to the deconstructed pieces, Jason Wu's spring fashion show in spring 2018 brought loungewear and ninety-inspired designs to the stage. The latest part of the collection instead focused on spring flower and flowy dresses.
Tom Ford Spring / Summer 2018 RTW Collection
Nothing will ever stop the sale of Tom Ford because the American fashion house is experiencing one of its biggest moments. To underline his success, he invited his guests in a very special way and sent his invitation along with a bottle of his latest fragrance. Beating it big with either the invitation or the actual show is definitely one of the NYFW's prerogatives!
Inspired by his latest m enswear Spring 2018 collection, which was a worldwide success, t Tom Ford ran his menswear leitmotiv on womenswear, focusing on bespoke figures, textured shoulders, and the most refined materials available. Like Wu and Wang, he managed to capture the souls of the Eighties and Nineties and sometimes play with them, sometimes separated. One thing is certain - nobody will ever forget these glorious metallic proposals. Even if you love the wide range of rich blue, orange and yellow colored items this summer, you will fall in love with the Tom Ford Spring Collection 2018.
Victoria Beckham Spring / Summer 2018 RTW Collection
Out of all these runway shows, Victoria Beckham's was the most celebrated. It has already received tons of positive feedback, and in fact, looking to the future, if you look at just their Spring 2018 collection.
Described by Victoria Beckham as proof that" Delicacy can be strong too, "the Vic Toria Beckham spring / summer 2018 collection overwhelmed NYFW with an abundance of pastel colors and delicate figures whose softness was enhanced by sweet gingham patterns and flirty foils. Throughout the show, Beckham translated her craving for delicacy into coordinates and more business-grade ensembles who somehow managed to make her appear both professional and casual.
For those who prefer lighter colors, such as black, white and gray, the latest section of the collection will be extremely functional and satisfying, while those looking for something funnier will especially enjoy the second part of the collection focussed on the same delicate figures, which, however, were resumed with more jocosely metallic materials.
Like all other designers, Victoria Beckham played in the '80s and' 90s, though in a more mature, New York-inspired style.
