NYFW Fall 2018 Runway Shows: Oscar de la Renta & Carolina Herrera

With Carolina Herrera, who said goodbye to the New York fashion show, we had the loss with a collection balancing in the autumn of 2018, who, gracious and respectful, pay homage to a man whose creations have made many women daydream - Oscar de la Renta. With so many creative directors renewing their aesthetics, Oscar de la Renta's designers have decided to stick with tradition and show some love to the founder of the label.

After a few attempts to renew the aesthetics of Oscar de la Renta, the creative directors Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia surprised the NYFW with an Oscar de la Renta fall collection in 2018, which was inspired extensively by the archives of the fashion house Legacy, led the duo to a 62-piece line-up that features winding silhouettes, practical but extremely feminine staples and Oscar de la Renta's beloved floral pattern turned.

More than anything else, as Kim and Garcia said behind the scenes, this latest Oscar de la Renta line was inspired by a trip to The Cloisters, which the duo and de la Renta themselves took to admire a Janet Cardiff sound installation. Specializing in European medieval architecture, sculpture and decorative art, the Cloisters, a museum in Upper Manhattan, served as the perfect setting for the elaborate evening gowns, layered ensembles and exquisite pearl patterns that we admire in Oscar de la Renta's latest show and what certainly won the favor of the primary audience of the label.

Among these cocktail and elegant proposals, however, the Oscar de la Renta collection in the fall of 2018 made room for some useful pullovers, skinny pants and ultra covetable coats too, which we are sure to soon become one of the most popular items in the world will be next fall.

Understandable when it became clear that the Carolina Herrera fall 2018 collection would be her last, the sadness of her fans was palpable. Anyway, Carolina Herrera already had someone in mind, the new creative director Wes Gordon, who according to Vogue, "has been quietly designing by her side."

As for this particular collection We pretty much say that Carolina Herrera has taken the time to make her departure unforgettable.

Focusing on textured silhouettes and dynamic lines whose layers became the foundation base for a plethora of sophisticated pleated details, this latest Carolina Herrera Fall 2012 collection was all about artisan excellence, with tons of pristine uniforms, wrapped cuts , Silk faille ball skirts and oversized coats Dominating in the scene.

To top it off, the line-up included even feathery suggestions that should be worn at the greatest events we'll ever attend, with a few striped patterns and asymmetrical details rigorous chic line.

With Carolina Is Herrera's aesthetics perfectly translated into fashion, will Wes Gordon be able to fill the founder's big shoes? Will his way be similar to that of Kim and Garcia? Only time will tell, we advise.
