Short answer: no. Long answer: Well, it depends. No two formulas are the same, so from Brand to Brand BB creams will be different from other BB creams, CC creams will be different from other CC creams, etc.
You might even find that what a DD cream is for a brand really reminds you of the BB cream of another brand. There are no specific rules, though in most cases you will find some claims are more common about some kind of alphabet cream, and others are made when talking about another alphabet cream.
Finally, if you try it To choose between BB creams, CC creams or DD creams, consider each product individually - is the right color for you? Do you like the cover that exists? Do you take advantage of the skin care benefits that these product offerings offer for your specific skin problems? These answers are much more important than the letters used to name the product.
What are BB creams?
BB creams are the first letters creams that come to market. Depending on the brand, the BB stands for either "Blemish Balm" or "Beauty Balm". What are DD creams?
Let me officially announce that the whole concept of DD creams is pretty dead. May they rest in peace! The "DD" in DD creams stands for "Dynamic-Do-All" or "Daily Defense". Both are not for me, as this "all-do" idea was already part of the BB Cream myth, while defense, probably in the form of sunscreen, is the de rigueur in your average alphabet cream.
It is significant that no Korean company has ever invented a DD cream. Marcelle and Julep were two of the first brands to introduce the concept, but both have discontinued their DD creams in recent years.
