PFW only became the Paris Futuristic Week in the fall of 2018, thanks to the collections of Givenchy, Balenciaga and Valentino, who explained to us in particular about the different possibilities of Futurism. Although we usually regard it as a fashion aesthetic that is mostly confined to geometric shoulders and metallic patterns, Futurism is a true philosophy that permeates the minds of visionary creative directors and was closely linked to the latest fashion trends by Givenchy, Balenciaga, and Valentino if no conventional futuristic object was presented on stage.
Get ready for three of PFW's most exciting fall 2018 fashion shows!
Givenchy Fall / Winter 2018-2019 RTW Collection
Although the fashion brands of the 1980s were less imposing than the other fashion weeks, they were still present at the Paris Fashion Week. Among the various runway shows, Givenchy was probably the one who played the most in this decade.
Inspired by movies like" The Hunger "and" B-Movie: Lust & amp; Sound in West Berlin "Givenchy's Fall 2018 collection brought us into a world of the 'New Wave of the early' 80s, before the Wall fell and through that time, when the Wall fell, 'said Givenchy's new creative director, Clare Waight Keller Surprised us with a cultural cross that we still had to experience with Givenchy.
Berlin's club scene, filled with inspirations of all kinds, was the perfect scenario for the visionary Clare Waight Keller, whose standard female characters landed perfectly on a new out-of-the-box moodboard.
The collection Givenchy Fall 2018 is strong, structured, mostly dark tinted and inviolable. It has given us a number of straps and it-items that can be combined with each other and that will certainly help a good deal in the '80s. Staples to invest in (I mean, look at those coats and tuxedos!) ,
The thing is, would you ever wear one of Givenchy's fall 2018 pieces at an evening in Berlin? As for me, absolutely!
Balenciaga Autumn / Winter 2018-2019 RTW Collection
The trendsetter Demna Gvasalia returned to PFW in a Balenciaga fall collection in 2018, confirming his craftsmanship n skills and ideas fashion as a whole.
" After two years at Balenciaga, "Gvasalia Vogue explained behind the Scenes "I wanted to take and code all the codes of the house So you can be aesthetics and ethics. [...] I had a kind of creative revelation in October. I understood exactly what I wanted to show today. "
His Balenciaga Fall Collection 2018 was indeed inspired by Cristóbal Balenciaga, but only from a general aesthetic standpoint. In order to surpass the innovative leitmotiv over the "imitator", he even brought technology to the stage by using both Balenciaga's women's and men's clothing (it was a co-ed fashion show) with an innovative computer-aided molding process, in which the final fabrics were created, connected to a light foam. Consequently, Balenciaga's Fall 2018 garments were sexless designed to suit anyone, although at times showing either more conventional female or male structures. Sharp in their lines, opulent in color and print, and subtly futuristic in the streetwear attitude, the pieces from the Balenciaga Fall 2018 collection were a true revelation, which, we are sure, the way how many designers will change, consider their own fashionable creative process / p>
Valentino Autumn / Winter 2018-2019 RTW Collection
Futurism is often synonymous with apocalyptic scenes, and therefore (understandably) many people are afraid of it. Valentino's Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli has brought us a message of love and futuristic positivity with the Valentino Fall Collection 2018, which is evidently about harmony and calm.
"Romanticism," Piccioli said prophetically and rather cryptically backstage, explaining the main theme of his collection. "It's a strength today if you're able to be assertive, but not aggressive."
His collection Valentino Fall 2018 was indeed romantic.
Filled with balance and "pure" For the feminine items, the collection was about vertical, clean structures and long silhouettes, with long dresses and coats dominating the scene. Fragile yet strong, the lineup also created intriguing contrasts with the rouge tones and rich textures, adding an extra dose of quiet momentum to the lush hoods and details inspired by Princess Leia.
Blooming flowers most of the evening dresses, highlighting Piccioli classic and yet revolutionary (especially in these times) idea of romance.
Living romance as a way of life is a mantra that we would like to spread all over the world, and we are glad Piccioli began to spread it in the fashion industry.
