The fall / winter 2017-2018 handbag trends were everywhere on the map, with serious and ridiculous options rampant on the catwalk to suit any type of woman. There were many simple leather bags in different shapes and sizes, but also extreme elements. Below are the top handbag trends for fall 2017 that are likely to land on your new wishlists!
# 1. Multi-Bags
Why do you only have one purse if you can carry two or even three? Okay, well, I can think of several reasons why several bags might not be so comfortable. Still, designers loved the idea of purses in a variety of sizes and shapes for the Fall / Winter 2017-2018 pocket trends.
The most common type of layering was adding a tiny microbag to a larger bag, perhaps as a handy coin holder, but that was certainly not the only way we could observe this trend.
At Fendi, bags were combined in several ways. In some cases, smaller bags for coins or lip gloss have been looped over the handle of a larger bag, providing a nice contrast of color and texture. In another case, three small bags in descending sizes and in various leather colors and textures were looped on a large metal ring that looked almost like a large key fob set. With Gucci every bag was a statement, so doubled the bags twice the statements. Or three times, because three stacked bags were hung on top of each other in one of the better organized multi-bagging options.
At Maison Margiela, we saw the unique pairing of a small backpack (which could probably be worn as a purse), along with a larger shoulder bag made of plaid fabric.
# 2. Small Bags
So many collections had micro-wallets that had to go on this list of fall / winter 2017-2018 handbag trends. Some were actually paired with larger bags, others cooled off alone, just the right size for a smaller cell phone, a lipstick and maybe a few dollar bills. Tiny bags for fall 2017 came in all sorts of shapes, colors and styles.
On the Coach Track, micro bags were everywhere, both individually and as accents for larger bags. They looked like miniature versions of some of the regular-sized bags for fall 2017 that we saw on the catwalk: all classic leather, with some fun colors and attachments. They hung on long chains and worked as beautiful accessories.
Stylish box micro bags were a perfect match for Jason Wu. Hanging from long, metallic chains, these tiny, square pockets were so elegant, with a shiny, round decor and made from luxurious leather and crocodile leather. There were also many small purses at Valentino, beautifully decorated with gold and fur motifs. They were mostly solid and reminiscent of old cigarette holders. As an eternal teenager, I absolutely love the fact that backpacks are part of the handbag trends in the fall of 2017. They are much more comfortable and ergonomic, so I'm so happy to see so many chic versions of them. Sure, a backpack might never be the right choice for formal wear, but high fashion certainly has a place in everyday life! The Fall 2017 bags in the Jeremy Scott collection were all disrespectfully bizarre, channeling the kind of rude humor and silly characters that were ubiquitous in 1990's youth fashion. A colorful backpack with such a design is a natural creation, but it is certainly the type of article that would work only in the most casual situations. There were also some adorable and unique leather backpacks by Coach Ralph Lauren and Maison Margiela. We just saw Lunch boxes, as well as some handbags, reminded us of a square lunch bag with a squat handle on the runways this season as one of the most eccentric handbag trends in the fall of 2017 Similar to the Jeremy Scott backpacks, the lunchboxes were completely disrespectful and witty, covered with cheeky slogans and graphic images and designs. Similar to the rest of the bags in the collection, they had a late '80s / early' 90s vibe. At Louis Vuitton, high fashion lunchbox handbags remained true to the brand's reputation as a symbol of luxury, but with a working-class design twist. These leather bags in autumn 2017 looked a bit like a cross between a toolbox and a lunch box, with a square base and rounded top, and the familiar LV letters were placed on the pockets to look a bit like tape markers. A clutch is a symbol of sophistication and proof that you're ready to sacrifice comfort for the class. Almost every runway this season showed a clutch or two, but a few really stood out for their cleverness or uniqueness. A more casual attitude on clutches at Marc Jacobs was an interesting choice. In autumn 2017 we saw a lot of simple leatherclothes in the colors white, light brown and warm brown, which are usually better during the day. More than half of the 2017 Fall Bags in the Miu Miu collection were clutches that were anything but clutches. There were many items in these clutches (sometimes all in one bag), including snake skin, fur, leather, belt buckles and jewels. We also saw clutches at Dries Van Noten, Coach, Yves Saint Laurent and many other fashion shows. The Strap of a bag can be an excellent way to show creativity, but all too often it fuses with the color and material of the bag in the background. For the autumn / winter 2017-2018 pocket trends, several bags were made with colorful ribbons that stand out against the bag body. At Mulberry, for example, large ribbons of beautiful braided ribbons made a boho-chic vibe to the bags of typical brown leather. The bags in the Anya Hindmarch collection had straps reminiscent of the kind of paper chains you might have made in elementary school, but instead of paper, they were made of rings of shiny leather, in various bright colors. While the overwhelming choice for winter trends 2017-2018 were leather straps, here and there noc shone h chain strap on the catwalk. Unique chain handles with a Victorian atmosphere warmed our hearts on the runway of Bottega Veneta. The bags were all made of warm leather and crocodile leather, and their handles were thicker chains of brass-colored metal. Alexander Wang's autumn 2017 handbags could best be described as Punk Rock Bling. All black bags, with shiny metal elements, glittered perfectly with glamor and edge, with shiny chain straps in various designs. We also saw chain handles on Christopher Kane, Jacquemus and more. Round handles were everywhere in autumn 2017 bag trends. It was a repetitive trend from the spring / summer season, but this time with a wintry flare and subdued colors. It is a great wallet option for anyone who likes to handle a shorter handbag because it is particularly memorable and quirky. At Fendi, the round metal handle was attached to a small handbag (another trend this season) with a clasp. At Milly, we've seen a few different variants of the round metal handle design, especially on smaller leather handbags. Why do you only have a circular handle if you can have two? Roksanda's two delicate round handles give shiny leather bags a shiny touch. The two handles were connected by a larger strap, so that the purse could be easily hung over the shoulder. Bottega Veneta was one of the major brands that brought briefcases back into fashion. The briefcases by Bottega Veneta had a very old vintage feel. They were leather and leather / crocodile-skin blends, in darker shades. A strange element that some designers had chosen to do was have bags that looked like they were side-by-side (top to bottom, like Jacquemus's), or had oddly long, rectangular pockets. At Marni, for example, there were several long, oval leather handbags. The benefits of a ring purse: It always pops up, softens an outfit and is beautiful enough for any occasion. Cons: It could fall over if you try to put it on a table. The circular bags that we saw in autumn / winter 2017-2018 were chic, beautiful and surprisingly not too impractical. At Chloe, we saw small leather bags in a perfect circular shape, with metal handles and some practical zippers. In Marchesa, round bags had a vintage charm. They were made of solid material, with a pill box-style clasp, and they swung on long, delicate chains. At Delpozo we saw a more eccentric version of round bags in different sizes. The pockets and handles formed a perfect circle that was a bit flat. While some bags were made of plain, solid fabric, most were covered with a confetti-like material that would add cheer to any outfit. We also saw round bags on the Mulberry runway. # 3. Backpacks

# 9. Briefcases
# 10. Bags go their own way / Long Bags
# 11. Round Wallets
# 12. Pockets heavy on print Most designs for Fall / Winter 2017-2018 pocket trends were salable for lack of a better word. This means that they are mostly made of a leather tone, with a few ornaments here and there or a unique shape.
It's a risky choice to have a pattern or print that covers the entire bag, if not expertly with the right outfit it can look awkward. Nevertheless, a few designers have dared the leap into loud prints. Not one for the subtlety, Anna Sui collection showed bags in simple shapes made out of loud, patterned prints in colors matching the clothes on the catwalk. These bags were all accented with gold braces or handles.
At Tory Burch, the designs of the bags were designed specifically for the rest of the collection, using exactly the same print on the bag as one of the garments the models wore. In other words, we saw large floral prints as well as various checkered and square patterns.
To counteract a collection of many beige and tan bags, some of the Fall 2017 bags, which were distributed by the Moschino collection, were completely made out of a loud and colorful collage print.
Cover a vintage flare with a solid punching bag. We saw them in the winter of 2017-2018 handbags trends both in the form of clutches and attached to long straps. They radiate an old-fashioned chic and are a perfect little addition to a chic evening engagement. At Christian Dior, a house that will forever represent the highest elegance, the jeweled box clutches were delicate and lovely. The jewels contrasted nicely with the darker material the clutches were made of.
The box bags at Dolce & amp; Gabbana swayed in a slightly more obtuse direction, with a pink purse on a long, metallic chain, and some small box handles. At Thom Browne we also saw solid suitcases.
# 14. Bucket Bags
I love Bucket Bags, especially when they are smaller, because they remind me of renaissance fairs. I can imagine being an old time bard wearing my coins in this type of bag with a drawstring. Well, of course, that was not what the designers had in mind when they put together all the incredibly chic, unique and fashionable bucket bags that made pocket trends in the Fall / Winter 2017-2018. At Versace, there were multi-color bags, including a mid-sized pouch pocket with bright orange, red and blue paneling.
# 15. Crocodile Bags
Though I am generally no fan of animal skins, it is unfortunately inevitable in high-fashion bags. With normal leather it is easy to forget that it was once part of an animal, while crocodile or snake skin is much more difficult. Despite my reservations, it is undeniable that the way crocodile leather was used for the fall / winter 2017-2018 handbags was unique, and fully exploited the unique texture of this type of leather. At Mulberry, for example, a red colored crocodile bag has been decorated with a green symmetrical design of white gemstones in a unique combination. We also saw some red and black crocodile bags on the runway of Altuzarra.
We saw several pairs of crocodile skin and metal in some collections, including Fendi, Gucci and Jason Wu, in a truly highlighted way the luxury of this leather.
Bottega Veneta, Salvatore Ferragamo and Gabriela Hearst had many crocodile skin purses and clutches, while a touch of crocodile and snake skin was incorporated into the pockets of Marni / p>
# 16. Formless Bags
It can be difficult to choose the perfect bag shape, but sew together a few pieces of fabric and see how they end up drop. This is a dangerous game. Quite a few designers have expanded their collections with shapeless bags for fall 2017, which can take different forms, depending on what they are made of and how they are kept.
At Proenza Schouler, Fall Bags 2017, Most had a minimalist, classic design, mainly of shiny material, in black, orange or silver. They were all the more fascinating because of their informal, flowing form. Maybe such a bag does not hold the level of comfort, but the effect is certainly unforgettable. Many were hand-held and foldable, while others hung on thick straps.
The black and gray bags at Michael Kors had a carefree stylish atmosphere. Many of them were quite informal, with handles that gave the bags a squeezed, casual look. Many of the models simply kept the bags in the middle or folded, in a carefree way.
# 17. Furry Bags
While heat is mostly a physical sensation, it also has a visual component. In winter, we want all our accessories to radiate a warm feeling and distract us from the weather.
We also want them to look good with all our heavy winter clothes! That's probably why furry bags were so popular in the Fall / Winter 2017-2018 handbag trends - their look radiates warmth and they go great with all the fluffy coats and skins of the season.
At Tod's, almost all bags were made of a mixture of leather in one color and fur in a different color. In the Dries Van sheet music collection, a tasteful blend of fur and leather for very wearable bags for fall 2017, in various styles including clutches and tote bags. The coat was in earthy and red tones and matched well with the winter coats in the collection.
The easiest way to describe the furry bags at Prada with Yeti Chic. We saw thick, slightly matted fur pockets in all sorts of designs, in the colors red, beige, yellow and warm pink. For Giorgio Armani and Miu Miu, fur was simply an extra decoration for some of the risers.
One of my favorite pelt bags for the fall of 2017 was Chanel - a larger gray furry bag hanging from the neck by a long silver chain. This fuzzy bag, which was around the waist, had two side pockets to serve as both a bag and a fur sleeve. We also saw various furry bags on the catwalks of Elie Saab, Fendi, Altuzarra, Oscar de la Renta, Max Mara and Simonetta Ravizza.
# 18. Bling Bags
Can you really have glamor without an encrusted jewel ... well ... everything? The answer is a definite no (at least if you ask a 6 year old, and many of the designers this fall / winter). The winter 2017-2018 handbag trends were filled with bejeweled and baffled bags, in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Some were a delicate jewel touch while others were completely covered. At Oscar de la Renta z. For example, both the delicate and the fluffy handbags had a large, central floral decoration that was absolutely encrusted in white jewels.
# 19. Pockets in bright colors
Autumn and winter can be wonderful seasons, with a wealth of fire-colored leaves, depending on where you live or soft white snow. For those of us who are less fortunate and may live in a city that becomes totally gray during the colder seasons, the bright and neon-colored Fall / Winter 2017-2018 handbag trends could be a blessing! A way to beautify the season with a touch of color!
The bags by Emilio Pucci stand out in neon colors, which can bring loud light into any outfit. These leather bags ranged in size from sensible handbags to massive holdalls.
By Christopher Kane, bright yellow and pink for bags that could really brighten a dark autumn day. At Jacquemus, neon green and bright pink have been combined with zig-zag shapes for the pocket edges and straps or with wide, round handles for super funny architectural bags for the fall of 2017.
# 20. Handbags with tassels
The bags by Elie Saab combine the sheen of gold with the bohemian aesthetics of the tassels. Golden tassels, along with a bit of bling, decorates smaller black leather handbags. At Coach, the tassels worked to add a contrasting color to the handbags color scheme, and add texture when they had the same color as the leather bags.
# 21. Another Knot on Your Bag
This pocket trend in autumn 2017 was particularly interesting. Instead of reasonably expected ties, such as small drawstrings to keep a bag closed, we saw large, chunky knots, which served mainly as stylistic accents.
The bags from the 3.1 Phillip Lim Show were simply chic, made of black leather in green. The leather handles were attached to a buckle of the bag with a knot large enough to be a particular decorative element. The big knots were also a motif on the handles of the bags in the Acne Studios collection. Here the bags were a tone of leather, in subtle tones like brown, pastel green, black and white, with the handle in a different color than the same scheme.
The piece of leather that made up the handle was tied in a flat, large knot, along the side of the bag. We saw this for both oversized bags and mid-size handbags in the fall of 2017. We also had bags with large knots to keep the bag closed at Giorgio Armani instead of a zipper or clasp.
# 22. Embroidery on the Bags
The delicate touch of embroidery is one of the softer Fall / Winter 2017-2018 pocket trends, which was mainly paired with leather for a rustic feel. At Kate Spade, black leather bags are adorned with colorful, floral embroidery that contrasts with dark leather to give an old, folksy feel.
At Coach, light brown leather got a boho-chic feel with the addition of small embroidered flowers that dotted the bag.
In Alexander McQueen's embroidery was also a way to make the bags in the fall of 2017 to a peripheral element. Loose threads hung from the large embroidered designs on the pockets, giving the design an untreated, raw touch. Since the models are holding the bags sideways under their arms, we may have to wait for the collection to be officially released to see exactly what the embroidery looks like.
# 23. Animal Elements On Bags
If you want me to buy something (or just cheap a trend), bang an animal on it and bam, I'm totally won. I've absolutely adored all the animal motifs and applications that made it handbag trends in the fall of 2017. Some were more subtle and serious, while others were just totally adorable, and I want them all!
Most of the Trussardi bags for fall 2017, which were otherwise made of decent leather, carried a silver version of the Trussardi dog logo, in a circular shape over the flap of the bag.
At Dolce & amp; Gabbana, a tiger bag has quickly won my heart. It was the kind of animal backpacks, many of them big fans, when our age was still in the single-digit range. There were a few other bags with fluffy animal faces on them, as well as many bags of adorable cat and dog prints, "I love my cat" or "I love my dog".
A penguin shaped bag on the Thom Browne runway is a perfect accessory for a snowy day and competes with D & amp; G for the cutest bag of the season. We also saw animal items on the Fall / Winter 2017-2018 handbags at Gucci, Moschino and Kate Spade.
# 24. Undercover Bags
One of the fun and whimsical Fall / Winter 2017-2018 handbag trends wore bags that looked like other things. Sometimes it was really about having a bag that did not look like a bag at all, while in other cases it was just a way to put some humor into a look.
At Chanel, we saw both types of bags: a rocket ship's bag is funny and sweet, not to mention the attention of people who would not normally notice a fashion bag. Another small bag was small and round, made of a shiny material and looked like a fancy perfume bottle.
At Dolce & amp; Gabbana, where whimsy is an integral part of bag designs, saw a locked wooden bag like a sewing box, and even had wooden legs.
I think the winner in the undercover bag trend category is Moschino, with a bag that's shaped like a garbage bin, and another that literally consists of a sock with a purses-style clasp ,
# 25. Fanny Packs < there is always someone you can rely on to make fanny packs, but that rarely happens. i'm looking forward to see if this time around they will become a successful part of the fall / winter 2017-2018 pocket trends.
Alexander Wang disguised the Fanny Pack he created wearing his models like a clutch. Made of black leather and a gunmetal-colored chain belt came a little noble to this creation.
At Nina Ricci, instead of a fanny pack, we saw a modern version of the medieval bags / purses that would hang from his belt. It was a peach hue of leather and made of a firmer shape.
What were your favorite fall / winter 2017-2018 handbags trends? Are there pocket trends that you really do not feel this season? Let us know!
