We noticed two main themes that were part of the Make-up Trends Autumn / Winter 2017-2018: anger and exhaustion. This was illustrated in two make-up elements that overwhelmingly dominated the runways for next season: skipped makeup steps and chaotic, non-blended darker colors.
Designers and artists are inspired by the world that surrounds them, and the political climate of recent times is certainly not an uplifting one, especially considering most people in the fashion world are liberal in their political beliefs. It seems that, at least as far as the autumn / winter 2017-2018 make-up trends are concerned, some make-up artists wanted to demonstrate their fatigue and say to the women, "You may be tired, so just take a step back, take care of your wounds You do not have to work so hard to pretend that you're good together. "This was illustrated with a wealth of quick make-up looks and very few full faces of make-up.
Almost every possible make-up step had been skipped on one or the other runway: eyebrows, mascara, eye shadow, contour, lipstick and even Foundation. The traditional eye make-up look, mixed and noble, with three or four shades of eyeshadow, was almost nowhere to be seen (with a few, chaotic exceptions).
What struck me was that there were none. Not as many makeup make-up looks as in the previous season, make-up artists decided instead to completely skip make-up , The other issue - annoyance - was portrayed in dingy makeup, heavy and unbleached lines, and lots of smokey, black eye makeup looks. These looks were decidedly unpretentious and unreasonable. They were the make-up looks of someone who could not bother to put off their makeup and restore it the next morning, and more importantly, they were the make-up looks of a woman who was While apologizing to some extent, the harsh, disjointed lines were also the limits that women must cultivate to face an uncertain future. Well, of course, not all fall / winter 2017-2018 beauty trends could be read as political. We saw some beautiful female looks and many colorful choices. We have all put together so you can enjoy it!
# 1. Bare Beauty, Naked Skin
If you only hire models with perfect skin, why waste time and money on founding? That seemed to be the logic on many runways in the coming season, which produced one of the most natural make-up trends for fall 2017.
Make-up artist Lisa Butler for Isabel Marant decided that this was the best foundation For the models to sport, of course, was a beautiful skin, so that the models instead of facial make-up a luxurious facial treatment with Pai skincare received. A pale beer-colored tinted lip balm was applied to her lips and cheeks, her eyebrows were prepared up, mascara applied and that was it. Simple and easy!

The models on Coach 1941 had adequate (and obviously) powdered skin that did not even give a hint of shine. Some of the models had a dull highlight to give their face a certain dimension.
We also saw a velvety skin in the fall / winter 2017-2018 make-up trend at J.W. Anderson, Fendi, Balmain, MSGM and more.
# 3. None further contour
In a continuation of last season, extreme contouring is still pending. In fact, many of the runway shows we also saw the highlighting skipped, instead for clean skin covered with a thin layer of foundation (or sometimes without). Of course, the models grace the runway and swings these fall / winter 2017-2018 make-up trends have the kind of flawless bone structures that do not require contouring, but I think the rest of us might still afford to take it lightly, soft outlines choose shades and blend, blend, blend.
One such runway, where contour was nowhere to be seen, was Prada, where Pat McGrath relied on the naturally striking bone structure of the models to stand out by themselves. Other runways on which makeup artists laid out the contours were Arthur Arbesser, Creatures of the Wind, Lanvin and Roland Mouret.
# 4. Cool Pink Blush
We usually choose either neutral or warm tinted blush because these colors look a bit more natural and flattering. For the fall / winter 2017-2018 make-up trends, however, I think a cool tinted pink rouge makes sense.
It looks a bit more like cheeks that were teased pink by a cold wind, and it gives a nice softness and doll-like effect. Just be careful not to overdo it, otherwise you risk looking like a little girl that came into your mother's make-up.
Gucci Westman was a makeup artist at Marchesa and created a flawless and extremely wearable look with soft pink cheeks, bright eyes and a natural, glossy lip. In Mary Katrantzou the rouge was also very cool and matched the pink on the lids.
# 5. Look into the nose Highlight
A dewy finish on the cheek apples was a big trend last season, which is why make-up artists have decided to focus on another feature for the beauty trends autumn / winter 2017-2018. One area that seemed to be highlighted more than anyone else this season was the bridge of the nose, which produced a sleek look and radiance. At Rochas, a baptismal primer was gently lowered to the center of the forehead and in a clear line down the bridge of the nose. On the Christopher Kane catwalk, the highlight was the nose and just above Cupid's bow.
# 6. Across the Lid Statement Lines
There is nothing more effortless and yet so sophisticated than a few carefully placed lines. They stand out strongly as an eye make-up choice in their refusal to merge into nothing. Therefore, it is not surprising that the statement lines that are pulled over the covers are one of the make-up trends for fall / winter 2017-2018.
From Chanel, we saw this trend in the 1960s. The artist Tom Pecheux had drawn a graphic line across the fold in a long arc along the entire length of the lid, paired with false lower eyelashes and a pale eyeshadow on the lid. You could definitely reflect that look with a cut pleat and thick mascara on the lower eyelashes.
At Mugler, the look was understated and futuristic, like a Space Age CEO. The make-up artist Lisa Butler had the models' covers decorated with a straight black line directly above the fold that broke diagonally across their tear ducts. The rest of their faces looked immaculate, with natural make-up, well-groomed eyebrows and a natural lip with a satin finish.
We saw a thick black line above the fold on some models by Emilio de la Morena, and a thin white line on the models at Tome.
# 7. Pumpkin Orange eyes or lips
The color of autumn is reflected in the color of autumn, which we see when we look outside: pumpkins on door sills and orange leaves, which at the same time reflect the pleasant warmth and coziness of the inner life. Of course, orange is a must have eyeshadow color for the fall of 2017 make-up trends.
There are all sorts of settings on this eye shadow, from the circle of grungy orange shadows around the eyes of the models at Fenty x Puma, to the dull orange lipstick at Eudon Choi. For Junya Watanabe, it was a crazy shot, with an orange shadow applied generously to the bleached eyebrows of the models and their temples.
# 8. Eyebrows unfilled in
Forget about bold eyebrows that are strongly related to S are provided. Many make-up artists decided that they were above the trend and left the eyebrows of the models completely naked. # 9. Returns the bleached eyebrow

Lia Pavlova, walking for Emilia Wickstead, rocking this trend became dark-haired, while for Leah Rodi at Proenza Schouler she blended seamlessly with her platinum locks. We also saw models with bleached eyebrows on Coach, Junya Watanabe, Marc Jacobs and Altuzarra.
# 10. Gleaming Gold Eyeshadow
I am delighted to see Gold Eyeshadow as one of the fall / winter 2017-2018 make-up trends because I truly believe that there is no other color that is so glamorous is. Gold Shadow is bright, seductive and ensures that you always look expensive.
On the Alexis Mabille Runway, gold eyeshadow made perfect sense when paired with all those funny gold boots and jewelry. A bright gold was applied from the lid to the fold, with a darker hue in the outer corner of the eye.
At Laura Biagiotti's show, the light golden eyeshadow was on the loose side, messily applied from top to bottom. It went well with the graphic nails in black and gold. The rest of the face was clean, with no hint of color or contour.
# 11. Luxurious bronze Eyeshadow
Bronze is a wonderfully luxurious shade that's perfect for fall. It's so warm, but a metallic sheen makes it look expensive. It's no surprise that make-up artists love fall / winter 2017 make-up trends. It's the kind of color that flatters almost every eye color or skin color, and it can work day and evening.
At Carolina Herrera, the talented Diane Kendal kept the look simple, with a shiny bronze over the eyelids, thick eyebrows and clean and hydrated skin. On the Balmain runway, we saw an edged version of this color, where it was combined with a greasy, smoky circle of black shadows and a negative space in which a winged liner could have disappeared.
The bronze eye make-up look in Bottega was perhaps the most portable of all for Veneta - a bronze shadow was applied to the inner half of the eyelid as a taupe extended from the outer corner of the eye into the fold.
At Christian Siriano The bronze look received an avant-garde twist, with a bronze-colored and red smoky eye, and a long triangle that extended from the outer end of the lower lash line, reminding me of a sad clown Pierrot. There were also beautiful bronze shadows on the catwalk for The Blonds.
# 12. Negative Space Eye Makeup
As far as avant-garde go to autumn 2017 make-up decisions, I think negative space is my favorite. It's never stale, it's always surprising and mesmerizing And according to every high-fashion trend, it never looks as if the artist has tried too much.
At Balmain, we saw a grubby eye make-up with a single bit of cleanliness, where normally a winged liner would have been. It helped keep the eye shadow from looking too wild and showed that much thought was given to putting the face together.
On the runway of Vivienne Westwood, the models echoed in two different looks. A neon smoke eye on one model was reflected by a thin neon ring around the eyes of another and a completely empty lid.
At Maison Margiela, a literal wing was drawn in a thin line around a single eye, with the other eye bare on many models on the show. We also saw clever use of the negative space eye makeup at Prabal Gurung.
# 13. Blushingly Pink Eyeshadow
Colored eyeshadows were not a clean or soft affair this season, except for some designers who opted for romantic looks with pink and reddish eyeshadow. This was probably the softest of the fall / winter 2017-2018 make-up trends, with some really nice and feminine looks, though some of it fell on the edge and the roughness of some of the other eye make-up looks. In the Bora Aksu, the delicate pink hues surrounded the models' eyes and went well with the pink lips and cheeks. At Altuzarra we saw the slightest hint of pink in the fold.
The look was just as soft at Delpozo, where some of the other minimalist fall 2017 make-up trends were used. In Trussardi, a pale but warm pink was mixed into the lids and into the fold.
# 14. Sunset Eyes
Perhaps this trend is a variation of make-up or tricolor makeup fall 2017 beauty trends, but it deserves its own entry because it was so beautiful this season.
The eye make-up on the Carmen Marc Valvo Catwalk was truly breathtaking. Yellow eyeshadow was applied to the inner corner of the eye and fused well with an orange on the lid and a dark pink in the outer corner. It was a fun way to add a little summer to the make-up trends of Autumn 2017.
At Vanessa Seward we saw similar colors used, but after the angry, messy theme of the season, they were applied in hard strokes and with lots of dark, smoky eyeliner.
For Fjodor Golan, it was an early and tropical sunset, with a hint of pink in the inner corner representing the beginning of a setting sun, with a bright aquamarine representing the sky reflected in the sea.
# 15. Black Eyeliner Fun
Black is technically not a color; it is the absence of color. People who wear only black are often accused of being boring or overly heavy, although in reality this restriction can actually cause someone to show their creativity in other ways. This was done on a few shows with black eyeliner, where different make-up artists experimented with different shapes.
At Marni, the goddess herself, Pat McGrath created a variety of super fun eyeliner shapes, some of which I'll definitely steal. My favorite was a slightly downward-looking three-winged look, with one wing on the upper lash line and two on the lower lash line. Another frequent look was that the lower eyeliner lengthened to a wing.
The Versace models had the worst, most extreme black winged liner look. She probably brushed the line between liner and shadow as she stretched from the eyelashes to the lid and then flattened out in a shape that almost reminded me of a black black swan. The angry eyes came out even more, as the rest of the face lacked color and definition.
In Fenty x Puma, along with the orange eyeshadow, thin strips of black eyeliner were pulled under the eye, right along the top of the cheekbone, which had an unconventional effect that well balanced the sporty collection.
# 16. With Dark Eyes and Lips Break the Rule
If you do not spend all nude looks this season or if you do not want to skip a make-up step, then you can really choose one The more foul things we saw in the autumn / winter 2017-2018 make-up trends were models that covered the runway with dark eyes and dark lips.
At Valentino, this dark look was pretty monochrome,. with winged eyeliner and lips in both dark wine shades of red and a deep bronze lid.
For Ana Sui, the look was straight out of a crazy fantasy make-up hater, which looked like a woman's make-up: dark blue on the lids , black in the outer corner and a deep burgundy lip. A brilliant look at the dark eyes and lips was shown by Philipp Plein.
# 17. Fun with false eyelashes
We've seen some really wild and creative looks that were all about the wrong eyelashes. Much of it came with a '60s flare, lots of cluster eyelashes, and a focus on big lower eyelashes. However, some of the looks were simply avant-garde, with truly unique, bespoke falsys. Take these beauty trends from autumn 2017 as an opportunity to try out Falsys and work with this eyelash mask.
At MSGM, spherical cluster eyelashes applied to the lower eyelashes of the models were somewhat sinister in appearance.
For Junya Watanabe's runway, an attempt was made to capture some of these fall / winter 2017-2018 make-up trends, but the one that stood out the most was the massive, spiky falsies applied to both the upper and lower eyelashes. Jeremy Scott also focused on the Statement Bottom Lashes.
The false eyelashes were super wild at Ryan Lo, where the models looked a bit clownish, even with colorful rainbow eyeshadow and false eyelashes on their creases and lower eyelash line to make their eyes look massive.
# 18. Colorful Mascara
Do you miss your youth? That's what the make-up artists of this season did. One of the things they brought was colorful mascara, which, to be honest, I think is a remnant of the past. Mascara was much lighter and more on your face than the dark purple and blue mascara of the '90s, and frankly, if it had not been so colorful we might not have noticed it.
At Emilio Pucci, the show's models went with bright eyelashes in the colors orange, green, pink and even white, in some cases receiving a thin line of shadows along the lower eyelashes in a matching hue.
For Jason Wu, the colored mascara was less noticeable. Royal Blue Mascara has attracted the eyelashes of all models. It was an interesting look, especially because it was paired with warm orange lips.
# 19. Or Skip Mascara and Forget the Lashes Overall
Let's face it, Backstage at fashion shows is an ultra-hectic place, with hairstyles, models, make-up artists, hair artists and journalists everywhere walk around. This means that make-up artists have to work very fast, and every look that turns them down is welcome.
This season, some make-up artists decided that the step was to cut out the mascara that was allowed them instead. Concentrating on the skin or the lips, and with very fair models, they drew attention to their delicate features had an ethereal effect.
Peter Phillips for Fendi really kept things simple, created a base of flawless skin and decorate it with very little, including, you guessed it, absolutely no mascara on the models. The look on Christopher Kane was similar, but more sculpted.
We saw a similar look at Stella McCartney, where some of the models' eyelashes remained naked, while others received a seemingly single-coat of something, it seemed, dark brown. At Erdem we saw a generally bald look, which was very noticeable especially in the models with pale hair.
# 20 Do not miss the neon eyes
Lift off pop during the otherwise drab winter season of neon on your eyelids! We saw neon signs everywhere on the catwalks, which stand out as one of the most omnipresent make-up trends in fall / winter 2017-2018.
At the Oscar de la Renta show, the models showed bright eyeshadows above the lid and a loud neon pink stripe as a striking eyeliner. At Byblos, the bright neon colors were placed below the lower lash line and in the inner corner of the eye. All models wore two colors: maybe a blue on the lash line and a yellow in the inner corner, an orange and lime green, a hot pink and a yellow ... there were so many allusions to this funny theme.
About half of Vivienne Westwood's models rocked, which I can only describe as a neon-smoky eye - thick, colorful circles of neon orange, purple, electric blue, and magenta around the eye.
Other runways where make-up artists with neon-eye makeup have played include Versace, Maison Margiela and Emilio Pucci.
# 21. I'm Blue Daba Dee Daba Da
A few brave souls are always trying to pass blue eye shadows, so she ends up in the Autumn / Winter 2017-2018 beauty trends list. This year, however, it was either darker blues or blues mixed with black in a devilish style. For example, at Antonio Marras we saw both normal Smokey Eyes and Smokey Eyes eyes around the lid, which then surrounded from the forehead to the upper edge of the cheekbone in a pale blue - in one eye only were. In Anna Sui and Zang Toi, the dark blue eyes were paired with dark lips. In Anna Sui, a dark blue, jewel-colored eyeshadow was applied to the lid, which was black in the outer corner and provided with a fold, while a thick, blue-winged liner look along with dark red lips caused a stir.

# 22. Smokey, Messy, F *** Off Eyes
Smokey Eyeliner is nothing new, but as part of the fall / winter 2017-18 make-up trends, it was a bit more aggressive about it, it looked aggressively smeared, paired mi a furious pout and a "I do not apologize for sleeping in my make-up" attitude. I'm a bit messy, I'm all at this look, refusing to apologize. At Prada, most models had naked eyes, but a few rocked ultra smudgy eyeliner on the bottom lid, while the top lid was adorned with an equally greasy pastel.
At Elie Saab we saw my favorite smoker eye. There was a silvery highlight in the inner corner of the eye that was lightly blended into the lid, and the dark shadow was applied to the rest of the lid and folded into a beautiful traditional smokey-eye shape.
# 23 One-Tone Lids with Hard, Unmixed Edges
One look I quickly fell in love with was the graphical one-tone lid. These looks used a single shade applied in a thick form without any mixture. The effect was graphic, unique and high fashion a mistake. At Desigual, this eye makeup look was made with a simple sweep of blood red just above the crease, against the end of the lid, leaving the rest of the eye free. On the Prabal Gurung Runway, a similar look focused on the area above the fold, but in the colors yellow, blue, red and green. This shape framed the eyelid and extended to a point.
Zadig et Voltaire looked like a splash of paint had quickly been pulled over the covers of the models - it was very pigmented, and unappetizingly chaotic. Similar but even more messy was the look on Dion Lee.
Finally, on the Versus Versace Show, the models went with a colorful, graphic look in the colors dark blue, light blue or orange. From the top of the fold, the shadow was rounded off a great square, but when it came down, it merged a little more and reached a smokey effect along the lower eyelash line.
# 24. Tricolor Lid
Graphic color is much more than the mixed looks this season. The color-blocked eyeshadow looks we saw were memorable, with colors that really stand out, in a variety of combinations that were less about harmony than intentional clinking.
For House of Holland in addition to a touch of colorful mascara, the look consisted of lavender glitter in the inner corner, green on the lid and orange in the crease and outer corner. It was not nice, but it made a statement. At Leitmotiv the eyeshadows had a metallic finish and were applied in a thick, unmixed manner.
My favorite was a dull, colorful version of this trend, in Emilio de La Morena, where streaks of shadows were stacked on top of each other, reminding me of world flags.
# 25 Messy Lipstick
I've been known to whirl around with my lipstick for 15-20 minutes trying to get that perfectly clean lip line and egg ne smooth but opaque application. Most of the time I just choose an easy-to-apply lip gloss. That's why this is one of my favorite autumn / winter 2017-2018 make-up trends - it's such a relief that I do not have to worry about my lipstick patch!
At Giambattista Valli, some of the models showed the smeared lips were punk rock meets K-Beauty. The color chosen was a dark burgundy red that blended along the lip line into a softer berry red - some models wore a matte version of this lip, while others received a glossy treatment. It was paired with naked eyes and thick, well-groomed eyebrows.
Nicole Miller had a bitten lipstick effect, with a deep magenta applied only in the middle of the lip, while at Temperley London, a similar effect was achieved, but in a slightly more mixed manner .
The messy red lipstick was extremely noticeable on the catwalk of Preen by Thornton Bregazzi, where the greasy red almost met the models' noses. We also saw messy lips at Monse, MSGM, Gypsy Sport and Topshop Unique.
# 26 Skip the lipstick total
If messy lipstick is not your cup of tea, you can simply skip lipstick this season. Many models strolled down the catwalk this season, with no sheen or spot gracing their lips. It worked well with the entire bright themes of the season and the eternal trend of makeup makeup looks. It also helped that many models naturally had luscious and pigmented lips. The models for Victoria Beckham had her lips completely nude, while her eyes were adorned with the softest sweep of the gray eyeshadow. At J.W. Anderson and Emilia Wickstead, along with dull skin, most models had their natural lip color the work of a lipstick.
At Michael Kors, the only makeup focus was a highlighted and contoured cheek, but lips and eyes were mostly nude.
# 27th Maroon Lips, Soft Eyes
This is the lazy girl's spontaneous leap from gentle and reserved to glamorous high fashion. A simple sweep of a dark red lipstick is the easiest way to change a make-up look without makeup, so it was no surprise that he appeared on so many runways. It's another of these lightweight yet impressive make-up trends for Fall / Winter 2017-2018.
Arthur Arbesser's runway had a dull brown lip, perfectly applied with clean, oversized lines. The rest of the face was dull, well covered with foundation and with no hint of contour in sight.
Au Jour Le Jour looked similar, but the lipstick was softer and the lip line was not as strong or over-drawn. At Badgley Mischka, the maroon lipstick was very messy, matching another make-up trend from autumn 2017, paired with soft, shiny eyes, lots of mascara and a light pink rouge.
# 28. Art with Makeup Applications
I can not imagine a simple method Realizing all beauty trends in Fall / Winter 2017-2018 is one of them. Applications, especially on the lips, were a great way for make-up artists to play around and be creative. Some became really wild, while other applications were only noticeable up close.
Thom Browne is one of those runways where the applications were well thought out and mirrored the rest of the collection. It was simple - fabric scraps from the fall collection were cut in the form of big, pouting lips and sharp eyebrows and then glued to the models' faces. The effect was fierce, angry faces and an absolutely unforgettable look. For Gucci, Pat McGrath created a variety of looks, especially no makeup make-up looks, but a few of the models wore darker lips, with jewels of similar colors glued to them - much more understated and portable.
At Manish Arora, pearls were glued in beautiful patterns on the forehead, around the eyes and along the cheekbones.
