Spring/ Summer 2018 Sunglasses Trends

The main design themes we saw were cat-eye frames in all sorts of variations, along with some round and rectangular shapes and the materials from which they were made. The scale ranges from plastic to metal to acetate. We also saw other shapes and designs, with the most unique featuring interesting and unusual shapes, sci-fi vibes or many applications.

# 1. Large Cat Eye Frames

The Star design element of Spring 2018 is the Cat Eye Frame. This shape is a mainstay in sunglasses design as it beautifully extends the face and perfectly spans the elegance and devil-may-care mood. The oversized version of these glasses also has a retro flair that is always elegant.

The entire Badgley Mischka collection was inspired by the '60s, from hair to make-up and clothes. The big Cat Eye sunglasses in transparent acetate are the perfect fit. Similarly, the pastel-colored oversize sunglasses at Temperley London.

At Laura Biagiotti, the big cat eye glasses had a more modern look thanks to the sharper edges of the cat's outer end, a beautiful mix of brown and purple over a clear acetate.

# 2. Extreme Cat Eye F rames

Some designers have created cat eye frames that are a little more angled and sharp to stand out in the bulk of Spring / Summer 2018 sunglasses. Some of the lenses were big while others were quite small, which actually made them sharper and more interesting.

Perhaps the most iconic cat eye frames were at Louis Vuitton. While the sunglasses were not particularly large, their pointed ends were long and sharp, with frames of both metal and acetate that look both sporty and retro.

Maison Margiela could be left at this season, as every season, to give us maximum drama with oversized Cat Eye sunglasses in a variety of colors, with a unique acetate half-rim coming from the top of the frame protrudes, below the cat's eye.

We also saw examples of extreme and unique cat-eyes on the catwalks of Emilio de la Morena, Moschino, Rochas and Erdem.

# 3. Rectangular Cat Eye Frames

In addition to the extreme cat eye eyeglass frames that nearly all designers adopted for eyeglass trends in the spring of 2018, even the more discreet, square cat's eyes made a splash - if you'd like to enjoy that retro-classic eyewear style, but not quite Ready for its extreme shape, you can surely rock the more rectangular setting on it.

Ashley Williams, pastel plastic frame in the The rectangular cat's eye design was a bit on the thicker side, with brown lenses through The rectangular cat's eyes at the Acne Studios were larger and made of dark acetate, with some solid and some two-tone frames.

There were both sunglasses and norma eyeglasses in a rectangular cat's eye shape by Anya Hindmarch, made of sturdy, bright metal.

# 4. Multicolor Frames

If a single color is not enough, you may prefer one of the two-tone offerings that were part of Spring 2018 sunglasses trends. For example, at Marni, for, rounded glasses were in a plastic frame with the top half in one color (white, blue or red) and the bottom half clear.

Marco's sunglasses had a distinctive mod feel de Vincenzo. The massive frames that covered almost half of the face were tricolor, with color rings covering the perimeter of the lenses.

# 5. Tall and Thin Sunglasses

An exception to the oversized sunglasses that dominate eyewear trends in spring / summer 2018 are some frames that were long and thin - one Trend strongly supported by Instagrammers / Models like Bella Hadid. These included Prada's thin but still very domed Cat Eye frames, as well as round eyes and rectangular metal frame glasses on Miu Miu. At Sonia Rykiel, the frames were made of black plastic and were a bit chunkier but still very thin.

# 6. Small r Unde Frame

The Beatles are forever, and so are the round sunglasses John Lennon made popular. We've seen some interesting versions of this iconic look as part of summer sunglasses trends in the summer of 2018.

Miu Miu had sunglasses in all shapes and sizes, but the small, round lenses stood out in particular. The lenses were particularly close together, and a thorough look showed a double bridge.

The small, round glasses at Valentino had a distinct edge, since the lenses were made of blue or red-tinted material and the frames were they were studded with small studs.

Last but not least, at Sportmax we saw a stylish version of small, round glasses with a little steampunk twist. The bridge was bent upwards, so the glasses looked as if they had a central hinge.

# 7. Oversized Round Frames

Oversized goggles provide the best protection from both the sun and from looking people in the eye. If you want a softer look, rest assured that round frames have been spotted all over the catwalk in addition to the more angular and pointed designs.

At Bottega Veneta, for example, we saw dark acetate frames with purple lenses that covered everything from forehead to cheek. On the runway of Emilio Pucci, the models rocked in pastel acetate frames, which were round and large, with a touch of cat - eye effect of the 60s, thanks to the extra material over the top of the glasses.

# 8. Drop Temples

While much of the drama was about spring 2018, some designers also got creative with the arms of the glasses. A trend that really shone was a sudden drop in the handles, between the frame and the ears. Coach's sunglasses were all dramatically oversized and adorned with decorations, but the dropped arms were the most unique. They plunged into a curve, roughly in the middle of the ear, below the temple, and then bent to go over their ears.

At Francesco Scognamiglio, we also saw fallen temples and oversized design, but that's where the similarities end. The frames were made of a thin metal and the lenses were clear, which is ideal for corrective glasses. They were simple and sophisticated, with a touch of retro charm

# 9. Returns the square frames

Although this was not a primary trend, it is undeniable that last season's square frames still have room in your accessory collection. The square frames are part of the spring / summer 2018 eyewear trends for those who like to be a little more together and nervous.

In Calvin Luo, square, brown glasses were the height of style, with a unique frame that was just slightly separated from the lens on the outer corner. It was a refined and artistic approach to the classical form.

Angel Chen gave us the square glasses along with the recurring sci-fi atmosphere. The sharp edges on the hard black-lens sunglasses were less hipster, and more badass.

# 10. Oversized aviators

If you're up for a spring Deciding on sunglasses that offer a more unisex look, you'll be glad to know that aviators are still in style, mirrored with all sorts of lenses including the classic. Down the line we saw oversized planes for maximum cool.

The big planes in Altuzarra were particularly beautiful thanks to some unique droplet shapes that were created from the wire over the bridge of the nose. At Chanel, there was also a certain uniqueness in the oversized aviators because the mirrored lenses were connected by the bridge while maintaining the aviator shape.

# 11. Ma goggles

Something about branded sunglasses instantly gets me into the Carpenter movie "You Live!" Thinking where a special pair of sunglasses lets the viewer know the truth behind capitalist advertising. Needless to say, wearing branded sunglasses will make your eyes a place of propaganda, and you will allow yourself to become part of the label.

By Dolce & amp; Gabbana brand sunglasses came in the form of lenses in the form of D & amp; G - the stamp of the iconic brand. The frame was thick and covered with jewels, in case only the letters were too subtle.

The sunglasses at Christian Dior were just a touch less extreme, written with "J'ADIOR" on top of the frame, just above the bridge of the nose.

# 12. Printed Frames

If you're noticed everywhere and memorable in would-be, the printed acetate frames that compose some of the most creative designers for the Spring / Summer 2018 sunglasses trends should be your first choice For Ashley Williams, the designs on sunglasses with thinner acetate frames were unique, but also subtle, with zigzag lines and dots in black and white.

The sunglasses of Versace were covered in exactly the kind of patterns so iconic for the brand that were also heavily used on the prints of actual clothing. This means loud, bright shades of yellow, orange, green or red, punctuated by strong black lines. This pattern worked quite well with the retro, oversized cat-eye frame.

# 13. Colorful Borders

Solid frames in neutral shades were by far the most common things we saw on the catwalk, but some designers - especially those who opted for more classic eyewear shapes - decided to bring things to a shine.

House of Holland celebrates spring and summer with bright plastic neon frames. They used all kinds of shapes that are so iconic for the season, like cat's eyes and rectangles, in shades like bright blue and loud orange.

At Elie Saab, the colorful sunglasses for summer 2018 were subdued in color, but their design was anything but. Models wore oversized square frames in red, blue, yellow and green. The colors have been adapted to the monochrome outfits, but you can mix and match if you want.

# 14. Sci-Fi Frames

We If you feel futuristic (or retro-futuristic), you can opt for one of the more science-fiction-inspired 2018 Spring Goggles. These unique eyewear designs make you look like you're a kind of space-fashion icon whose glasses more than just allow you to see them when the sun is shining.

Gucci's collection was pretty inspired by the '80s, it was a real treat to see retro-futuristic eyewear designs covering the entire top half of the face, like a robotic shield or personal screen looked. There was a Cyclop from X-Men Vibe at Koche, in jet black sunglasses with a single long horizontal lens.

Perhaps the most unique design element was the concave plastic frame on some of the spring 2018 sunglasses at Rejina Pyo. It made the lenses look like they were placed in a shallow bowl, giving the face a really futuristic feeling.

# 15. Double Bridge Frames

A double bridge on sunglasses is a late '60s design element that does not look old, and works exceptionally well with unisex sunglasses designs. For many of the spring / summer 2018 sunglasses we saw double bridges.

At Alexstorm we saw a creative implementation of the double bridge, with the part of the frame around the square glasses made of brown acetate. The double bridge was made of metal. At Alberta Ferretti, the extreme cat eye trend has been combined with a double bridge for a unique yet stylish mix of retro styles.

The most unique example of a double bridge was discovered at Fendi, where it was semitransparent. Acetate frames were interesting, but high above the eyebrows instead sat an upper metal bridge. We also saw double bridges with Tommy Hilfiger, Miu Miu, Prada, Self Portrait and Giorgio Armani.

< h2> # 16. Tortoiseshell Acetate

Tortoiseshell goggles have their daylight in the limelight, with their ability to soften any look and their adaptability when it comes to design and color. There were some really flawless ways in which tortoiseshell acetate glasses became part of the spring / summer 2018 eyewear trends.

At Topshop Unique, several trends have been combined, with yellow & amp; brown tortoiseshell eyeglass frames that take the sharp cat eye shape we see everywhere this season.

Designs were decidedly unique to J.W. Anderson, where the lenses were circular, but the warm brown and orange acetate frames were large and round, with a sudden straight line on the outer part of the lens. Another tortoiseshell acetate eyewear label was Carolina Herrera with glasses, both with lighter yellow and brown blends and darker black and gray.

# 17. Bewjewled Sunglasses

I'm not usually a fan of bling-on glasses, sunscreen or anything like that, but as part of the spring-and-summer trends of 2018, I have to admit that some designers have changed my mind. Blingy glasses this season have managed to be modern and out-of-the-box edgy to look artful and glamorous, not to mention Dolce & amp; Gabbana we even have a bit silly, with large frames in colorful jewels over a floral design, as well as my personal favorite - a pair of frames covered in the shape of hands in rings.

Sunglasses at Philipp Plein had the same opulence from D & amp; G jewels, with the same interesting colors, but the jewels were focused on the top of the wire-framed glasses.

Bright neon sunglasses by Jeremy Scott were covered with small, white jewels along the part of the frame that surrounds the lenses. We also saw sunglasses in Coach 1941, Moschino and Ashish.

# 18. Delicate Metal Wireframes

Wireframes are one Sensitive choice for sunglasses and a classic choice for corrective eyewear. They can be timeless in some designs and in others they can be quite unique and sophisticated. The eyewear trends in the spring of 2018 give us many opportunities for the metallic material.

At Celine, wire was a special decoration that, while not covering the entire circumference of the pink lenses, still splashed a good figure by being very prominent on the sides and on the bridge.

The wireframe glasses at Balenciaga were very no-nonsense. They were made for corrective wear with a thin rectangular lens, in a simple design that will never go out of style but will never be the height of fancy.

At Monse, we saw a bigger takeover of metal frame glasses, with oversized glass with rounded square lenses and a clear-to-gradient purple color.

# 19. Semi-Rimless Sunglasses

Perhaps you remember that as a trend for people who did not want to look like they were wearing glasses, although many of them do Semi-rimless eyewear frames of Spring / Summer 2018 goggles are made to stand out!

At Vivetta, for example, the edge, which was only on the top half of the glasses, was a pearlescent white that contrasted strongly with the dark black lenses. For Prabal Gurung, semi-rimless frames broke the mold, as the frameless part lay over the lenses instead of below. The lenses themselves were bright pink, while the frame was made of shiny silver metal.

If you have a lä Rocky Style Rock, you'll be glad to know that the Spring / Summer 2018 Eyewear Trends have many options for you to sportier sunglasses that will fit well, not easy to break, and may even work for extreme summer adventures.

Stella McCartney's semi-sunlit sunglasses inspired her sporty look with colorful, thick frames at the top, along with a connection at the bridge, and a long and thick mirrored lens. They circled the face in a fashion reminiscent of snowboard sunglasses.

At Fenty x Puma by Rihanna we saw the same bright semi-candid design element that had a very sporty collection overall lenses were unique with a tilted design and the Fenty branding was all about the arm and bridge.

# 21. Yellow lenses

The decision for spring / Somm 2018 sunglasses with yellow lenses can be a bold choice, as yellow is not always a flattering color. But if it works, it just works, and it helps to warm the face and arouse interest. Warm yellow lentils were the choice at Aalto, where they were combined with acetate frames in a warm, dark green shade. This design looked natural and soft despite the unusual lens color. We have seen many yellow lenses on Christian Dior, Rejina Pyo, Gucci and Derek Lam.

# 22. Brown Lenses

Weiche, a Over protective, brown glasses fit almost anybody and are perfect to protect the eyes from the harsh sun. The other advantage of brown lenses is that they soften everything you see with a sepia tone, and they even keep modern designs a little less hard.

At Lacoste, the brown lenses contrasted beautifully with tall, modern-looking gray metal frames. The brown lenses made the Ashish sunglasses softer, made with a black frame and many little jewels.

We also saw brown lenses from Altuzarra, Alice + Olivia, Phillip Plein and Miu Miu.

There is something that fits perfectly with mirrored sunglasses - they just scream when they cover the wearer's eyes. If you want to be the person who is either aloof from you or hilarious to check your teeth or eye make-up, then choose one of these great Spring 2018 sunglasses.

A classic choice of Paco Rabanne is a pair of elegant wire frame fliers with a silver mirrored lens. At Chanel, the sunglasses were a bit more polarizing because they were oversized, with a pilot shape, but with a single lens, with a small connection at the bridge of the nose.

Most At Concept Korea, radiantly mirrored hues were discovered - they were in a round shape with sharp cat-eye corners and the mirror itself looked a bit bronze-colored.

Sonia Rykiel also welcomed this style and designed pastel blue and olive cat eyes in transparent frames, while Gucci's offerings were primarily grandma-chic and gave our summer look a cherished retro feel.
